RefWorks has made the following announcement:

RefWorks is pleased to announce the beta test launch for two new development projects – RefMobile and RefGrab-It (beta version 3).  In order to facilitate a general release of these projects, we are inviting all RefWorks users to participate in this beta testing.

Project 1: RefMobile

RefMobile is a version of RefWorks designed for access and use via Smart phones, PDAs and cell phones.  Features of RefMobile include the ability to view references in a RefWorks account, search within RefWorks, add a note to a reference and add new references using a “smart add” option.  Further details will be provided to individual users who would like to participate.

Project 2: RefGrab-It Beta V3

After several months of limited beta testing we are inviting all RefWorks users to be included in the beta test of RefGrab-It, our tool for capturing data on web pages.  This new version of RefGrab-It includes a new interface, two versions of RefGrab-It - a bookmarklet version (similar to the current RefGrab-It) and a Brower add-on version for both Firefox and Internet Explorer.  In addition to the new interface, there is improved handling of results from a variety of sources, as well as the ability to “grab” information on web pages using COinS (ContextObjects in Spans technology) .  Further details will be provided to individual users who would like to participate.

Please would interested users contact jeff.sramek@refworks-cos.com directly with an indication of the project(s) they would be interested in testing.

Thank you for your use and support of RefWorks,

The  RefWorks Development Team.

When you click on one of these buttons, QConnect will try to connect you to the full-text of the reference if it’s available online. If it isn’t, QConnect will give you the option of searching the Library Catalogue (QCat) for the print version.

QConnect FAQ is available if you’d like further information, or just contact the RefWorks Support Group.
