RefWorks has added new output styles. You can now produce your bibliography in the style of any of these QUB-subscribed journals:

Can I import references from QCat?

Unfortunately you can’t save your references directly from QCat, but you can do it through QSearch:

  1. Select CrossSearch within QSearch
  2. Click on Library catalogues and make sure there is a tick in the box beside QCat
  3. Conduct your search and save the references you want by clicking on the basket icon
  4. Click on My QSearch on the top toolbar and select the references for export to RefWorks
  5. Click on Selected then click on Save
  6. In Record format, choose RefWorks and click on Save
  7. A new window will open; Log-in to RefWorks
  8. Your records should appear in the Last Imported Folder

The New Library at Queen’s

We’ve been asked a number of times whether there will be any disruption to RefWorks during the move to new Library at Queen’s.

The answer is that RefWorks, together with all our other electronic information resources (databases, ejournals and ebooks), will be not be affected.

Enhanced RefGrab-It

RefWorks is pleased to announce the release of an enhanced version of RefGrab-It.

RefGrab-It is a feature within RefWorks that allows users to capture data from web sites and seamlessly add them to RefWorks.

Exporting from ebrary

Exporting and Importing references No Comments »

Now it’s even easier to export references from ebrary (a searchable database of 43,000 full-text e-books that QUB members can access via QSearch).

At the ebrary home page, just click on My Settings at the top right of the screen and set your preferences to show RefWorks buttons. Ebrary will display direct export buttons in your search results, on your bookshelf and in QuickView (in the InfoTools menu).

Off-Campus Access Problems

At the moment there are problems with off-campus access. RefWorks have said that they are working on the matter but they are not sure when it will be resolved.

File Attachment Searching

When you are searching within your RefWorks account, you can now include in your search any file attachments (.pdf, .txt and file names) you may have added to your references.

 Adding an attachment

In the Search RefWorks box, simply click on the check box next to Attachments after you enter your search term or, if using Advanced Search, select Attachments from the drop-down menu as one of the fields to search.
